ucspilogd is a minimal syslogd replacement. It's designed to be as small as possible.
Actually, ucspilogd doesn't perform much : it converts syslog facility numbers and alert levels into names, and prints identification information about the logging process - that's about all. The rest of syslogd's work is performed by additional software.
