Upgrading from previous versions of pipe-tools
What is it ?
pipe-tools is a set of tools designed to implement checkpoints,
i.e. instant notification from one program (the notifier) to
several others (the listeners).
This implementation is based on FIFOs: the communication point between
the notifier and the listeners is a named pipe.
