The hexaread program

hexaread reads a certain number of binary bytes, and writes them in a readable ASCII format.

Interface

     hexaread [ -n numchars ]

• hexaread reads numchars bytes on stdin and writes their ASCII values on stdout (2*numchars bytes), followed by a newline. By default, numchars is 28.
• If it is unable to read the requested number of bytes, hexaread complains and exits.

Notes

hexaread can be used to convert nistp224 keys, which are sequences of binary bytes, to human-readable form.

hexaread's dual is hexawrite.
