  Hello,

A new version of the s6-linux-init-package is out.

  * s6-linux-init-1.0.0.0
    ---------------------

  - It is a complete rewrite, and very different from the 0.4 series.
  - The s6-halt, s6-poweroff and s6-reboot commands have disappeared.
  - The s6-linux-init-maker remains; it has the same goals, but many
options have changed.
  - New commands, all prefixed with s6-linux-init-, have appeared.
  - The binaries, except s6-linux-init-maker, are not meant to be
used directly. Instead, they are used in scripts produced by a
s6-linux-init-maker invocation.
  - Some of these generated scripts are named: init, telinit, halt,
poweroff, reboot, shutdown. Those are the new public interface to
be used at boot time (they can be copied to /sbin if the user is
satisfied with them). They follow the sysvinit and LSB interfaces.
The output of s6-linux-init-maker can now be used as a drop-in
replacement for sysvinit in a distribution following these interfaces.
  - runlevel support and utmp support has been added.
  - Hooks to the service manager are provided via user-editable scripts:
rc.init, runlevel, and rc.shutdown.
  - Please check the documentation for details.

When rebooting after upgrading from a 0.4 version of s6-linux-init
to 1.0.0.0: the s6-reboot command, which is needed for the old shutdown
procedure, may not be accessible via PATH anymore. Make sure to have
(a copy of) s6-reboot available in your PATH; you can remove it after
rebooting on the new system.

  Bug-reports welcome.
