It's possible that something went wrong in my compilation, but this patch
seems broken:

old behavior:
$ s6-svstat date
down (exitcode 0) 3591 seconds, normally up, want up, ready 3591 seconds

patched:
$ ~/trees/mine/s6/s6-svstat date
up (pid 64) 3593 seconds, paused

pid 64 is entirely unrelated:

$ ps -f 64
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY STAT TIME CMD
root 64 2 0 2014 ? S< 0:00 [kworker/1:0H]
